    It’s go time.. sounds like Obama and Edwards have the loudest entry applause…

  2. Posted by Gene

    I’d like for them to ask the “then what?” question… seriously, then what?

  3. Posted by Gene

    Okay, why would CNN let in a question that frames “Obama” and “Hillary” as the main contendors? I hope the other guys take note of that and make a point about it…

    BTW: Kucinich is rambling…

    Liberal, Progressive, it’s all the same as long as it isn’t Bush…

  5. Posted by Gene

    I think Gravel should choose Chuck Norris as his running mate for VP…

  6. Posted by Gene

    So far it is my humble opinion that Edwards is the only candidate who is making any sense on the issues.

    Asked about reparations for Slavery, I think Edwards handled that well, the back of his kneck was bright red but I don’t think he dodged it.

  8. Posted by MissLilly

    I’m sorry, but what’s up with Gravel?

  9. Posted by Gene

    What? No questions about Iraq yet?

  10. Posted by Clayton

    So is Obama black enough and Hillary woman enough to be president? What kind of question is that?

  11. Posted by Gene

    Gravel is kind of nutty, me-thinks…

  12. Posted by Gene

    I think that was the first time in history I’ve heard a candidate say “I don’t want your vote” but then again I wouldn’t want the “your not black or a woman” vote either..

    I thought Barack Obama gave it right back to the questioners referenced his experience in trying to catch a cab ride in NYC when asked if he was “true” to his African American heritage.

    We’re a rich, diverse country. Walk through a shopping mall today and couples represent the rainbow of the American melting pot.

    The candidates wrap on gay marriage (or as well all like to think of it, full and equal rights under the law):
    Kucinich = Yes
    Dodd = No (but he still likes you)
    Richardson = Yes (and some other stuff)
    Edwards = No (but he will not deny you the right)
    Obama = Yes
    Hillary, Biden, Gravel = commercial break interruption, to bad…

  15. Posted by Clayton

    You have to love Richardson though. Been there done that… hah.

  16. Posted by Gene

    Here here, aknowledging the servicemen & women who have lost their lives in Iraq.

  17. Posted by RhondaJ

    Good point. Richardson - in spite of Clinton’s representations - really has the greatest depth and breadth of experience among all the candidates.

  18. Posted by Gene

    Are the Democrats playing politics with the war in Iraq?

  19. Posted by Gene

    Though Gravel has a point, the only thing worse than soldiers dying in vain is more soldiers dying in vain…

  20. Posted by Gene

    So will the Islamist states take a woman president serious? Well we have Bush in office, how’s that working out for us?

  21. Posted by Clayton

    Not to mention, at lease Hillary would “talk” to them…

  22. Posted by Gene

    Finally some questions on Education. No Child Left Behind, scrap it or keep it?

    Biden= Scrap it
    Richardson = Scrap it

  23. Posted by Gene

    Edwards has sent all his kids to public school and so did Clinton (at least until they were in the White House - excusable for sure) Obama’s go/went to private school… Biden’s went to private school, Kucinich’s daughter went to public school. Gravel mixed it up and sent his kids to all kinds of schools. Dodd’s daughter goes to public school.

  24. Posted by Gene

    Why no question from Jim Rex on this stuff?

  25. Posted by RhondaJ

    NCLB was a public relations ploy on the part of the current administration. Scrap it and start over. Make it real this time.

  26. Posted by Clayton

    Interesting way to play the sex education question, playing up the sexual abuse, so yes in that light how can the conservatives say no to sexual education in the elementary schools…

  27. Posted by Gene

    Not to mention NCLB is a total SNAFU situation… scrap the heck out that dinosaur… or can we talk about dinosaurs in public schools anymore?

  28. Posted by Gene

    Show of hands on who took a private charter plain; Clinton, Richardson, Edwards all did, and Gravel took the train?

  29. Posted by Clayton

    Yeah, nuclear power is cleaner and safer, except for the toxic waste and when they blow up…

  30. Posted by RhondaJ

    I think Edwards was already in town so didn’t reallyneed to answer the question. Yeah, Gravel took the bus.

  31. Posted by Gene

    Interesting point, Bush/Clinton name could hold the office for 28 years…

  32. Posted by Gene

    Yep, i’ll mention that i’m afraid of all the religious “lip-service”… Why do most of these candidates fear not being a “good christian”…?

  33. Posted by RhondaJ

    Tell me what you really think of the person on the left? This reminds me of a 1960’s T-group (therapy) question. Give your neighbor a hug.

  34. Posted by Gene

    Ending on a light note — Pretty much any of these candidates will be better than anything the Republicans can throw at us… even Gravel…
