Hey, this is awesome. You can almost feel electricity in the air. We saw a group of SCSU students doing some fancy footwork accompanied by what appeared to be the University Choir - all in anticipation of the debate.

    More to come….

The “spin” room is interesting too. Lots of SC who’s who are available to the media to answer questions. Marguerite Willis (Hillary), wife of Florence Mayor Frank Willis, Inez (Barack) and Samuel Tenenbaum (AARP) are all here.

No surprise here, we lead off the debate with a question about Iraq.

Edwards makes a good point about the Amerian people needing to believe in their President. Something that seems to have been lost…

You’re right. Are we hearing anything new though?

Did anyone see the crazy rebel flags flying down in the Vista today in support of McCain? Pretty scary…

I don’t think Biden is too talkative or smart, I think he’s really a smart-alec at heart, wouldn’t that be fun to see in the White House?

Hey, Biden’s comment was amazing - and perfectly memorable. Are you capable of controlling your tongue? Are you a “gaff” machine? “YES”. Smile. Nothing more. Notta.

The question asked is about gun control (specific to the VT tragedy). I pose this, how does having to go through a check and/or need to have a license to own a gun cause us to lose our 2nd Ammendment rights?

Some of the candidates seem far more comfortable than others. Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama - so far - appear most controlled and on point. The questions are somewhat predictable but tonight might be best thought of as the first comparative view of how fast-on-their-feet, decisive, controlled the Democratic candidates are.

Oh yeah, that and it sort of sets the tone for each candidate…

With the show of hands on stage and in the crowd during the debate Thursday night on the subject of guns and the tragic deaths in Virginia, will gun control become a divisive issue in the election?

I don’t think gun control will be a big issue in ‘08. I think it’s just hot right now. I’m sorry to say that, but I saw it happen after Columbine, and then nothing.

I wouldn’t think so, it’s an issue that could effectively split the democratic party. They’ll all probably toe the line on that issue.

Trees, light bulbs, both are good. But Obama doesn’t seem to have too much to say on the environment.

I like that: Global warring and global warming…

    Walmart is a mixed blessing? C’mon Hillary….

Congratulations to Senator Biden for graciously recommending every candidate on the stage tonight! A good end to the beginning of a long, long season.
